VRA- Village Revenue Assistants, VRO Jobs Notification in AP 2011- Latest Info
Revenue Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued notification for the recruitment of VRO (Village Revenue Officers) and VRA (Village Revenue Assistants) posts in the state of AP. Candidates have to apply online in the prescribed proforma through official website http://ccla.cgg.gov.in from 7-12-2011 to 29-12-2011. Last date for the payment of fee is 27-12-2011. More details such as roster points, reservations, pay scale, vacancies, selection procedure, model papers and questions and age limits are available below.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by N.Raghuveera Reddy has announced the notification details. Selection will be based on the written exam to be conducted by APPSC / JNTU / Inter Board or SSC Board. Following are the important dates for the recruitment. There will be no weightage for intermediate and 10th class marks. Qualifications will remain the same as prescribed earlier. Written examination will be for 100 marks and questions will be in objective multiple choice type with four choices. Following is the description fo the question paper. Question paper will be for 100 marks. There will be objective multiple choice questions from General Knowledge (60 questions -60 marks. Out of these 60, 30 questions will be from issues related to villages.), Arithmetic (30 questions -30 marks) and Logical Reasoning (10 questions - 10 marks). Question paper pattern, exam structure, sections in the question paper and duration of the test will be updates here soon.
1) VRO (Village Revenue Officers): 1175 posts; Pay Scale : Rs. 7740 - 23040. Eligibility is pass in Intermediate in any group. Those selected for VRO posts can reside in any area of the concerned district.
2) VRA (Village Revenue Assistants) : 6063 posts; Eligibility: Applicants should have passed in 10th Class / SSC. Local candidates only can apply for the concerned villages. Selection will be throuhg performance in written test.

4) Issue of call letters / hall tickets in the ratio of 1:3: 5-20th January 2012.

.Update on 12th November 2011: The Govt. of AP has finalised the educational qualifications required for VRO and VRA posts as prescribed by Cabinet Sub-Committee. For VRO jobs, candidates should have qualified in Intermediate. Pass in 10th class / SSC is the minimum qualification / eligibility for VRA posts. Mandal will be taken as a criteria for the selection of candidates. Gazette notification will be released on 15th November 2011 with all these details and recruitment notification may be announced in due course of time. The Government is yet to take decision on conducting interviews for these posts.

Apart from these, Govt. of AP is also planning to recruit candidates for various other posts in Revenue, Panchayat and Municipal Departments. Minimum eligibility requirements for VRA posts is pass in 7th class. They can reach the position of VRO after 5 years of experience and qualified in 10th class. VROs will get the salary equal to Record Assistants i.e., Rs. 12000. VROs can reach to the level of Junior Assistant, Senior Assistants and Deputy Tahasildar in Tahasildar offices through departmental tests and experience. The nomenclature of Village Assistants has been changed to Village Revenue Assistants through a separate GO issued on 18th April 2011. Following are details of posts, district wise break up of vacancies, selection procedure, eligibility conditions and notification information:
Village Revenue Assistants: 6063 vacancies; Eligibility: Pass in 7th class. Salary: Rs. 3000. Male and female candidates eligible for VRA posts. Candidates failed in 7th class also can apply for VRA posts. Tahasildars will select the candidates based on the marks in marks in a qualifying examination.
Total number of vacancies in the state are 8084. But the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has allowed the Revenue Department to fill up 6063 posts initially. More number of vacancies are available in Mahaboobnagar district with 492 posts. East Godavari and Karimnagar districts are in second and third positions with 466 and 464 vacancies respectively. Following are district wise break up of VRA vacancies in Andhra Pradesh:
